Daylight running lights how-to?
Hi All,
My 2006 US model XK8, that has been registered in Canada since 2015 in 3 different provinces, now didn't pass the out of province inspection as it is possible to turn the DRL's off. On "auto" they work, but on "off" they don't. Garage quoted me "around 4 hrs" @ 150/h to put in a $20 dollar switch (looks like standard 5 pin relay), so I said I'd give it a go myself. But it' s not as straight forward as it sounds. Even existing threads in this forum that I looked at don't actually give me enough info. I guess the idea is to get power from ignition switch to bypass the light switch on the steering column handle and then tie it into the zenon low beams, so they come on when ignition is on and can't be turned off..
Anyone have step by step guide on how to accomplish this, or am I in way over my head?
Thanks,
Theo
