Todd,
I have auto head lights. Just put a piece of black tape over the LED sensor, lights go on always. Whoever bought this car new chose titanium grey body color, perfect match for asphalt color. She sure blends in at dusk so I wanted those lights on as DRL fast as I could right after I almost collided with a gray vehicle no lights in the rain at dusk. As I was cursing the poor guy out to myself, I realized - I was doing the same to other drivers!
Only drawback, dashboard lights dim a bit with headlight on. But worth it IMO.
There is a really simply mod to make the fog lights act as DRL - automatically on when the ignition is on and the headlights are off. When the headlights are on, the fog lights are controlled as normal by the foglight switch.
Not quite all the story as if you have LED headlights you will need a 12 ohm 12w or more resistor from point 5 on R3, (the dip beam relay) to earth as the led bulbs do not provide sufficient earth connection when off. I also changed my spot lamp bulbs to LED which draws much less power . Resistor may also apply to HID This one is 12 ohms 25w .dont get as hot.

Just responding to redpoptop's post on the lights setup. When I bought my 2003 XKR, the headlights were set up so they always came on whenever the motor was running, but I'd much rather they didn't. You say that "they can be enabled via the dealer IDS /WDS / mongoose software in dealer options". Does that mean daytime running can also be disabled in that way? Presumably, that could only be done at a Jaguar dealership/workshop? Have you any experience in getting something like that done in a Jag dealership here in Australia? Sorry - so may questions!
The setting in dealer options can be done with a mongoose which can be purchased on line, I have purchased one a few years back and and played around with the dealer options menu,.
I would have thought any good inderpendent Jaguar garage would also have this type of equipment to do the adjustments.
Plus a Jaguar dealer would carry out the work as its a chargeable work , but may need to tell them what you want & how they need to do it. As now most of the dealers no longer understand or wish to work on the X100s due to age & spare parts issues.
