Joined about 4 years ago when I got my wife a 99 XK8 vert. While I have learned to search and find numerous hints and time/knuckle savers I've been guilty of not thanking all the members that have busted their knuckles before me.
Thank you all as this forum and others have been great for sharing info for many of us do it yourself wrench turners.
We bought our XK8 out of Cal in 2012 and drove it home to Ariz. I immediately worked on the top and installed the pressure reducing valve. Replaced leaky valve cover gaskets and cleaned the TB. The last few weeks I've braved our AZ heat to replace all the coolant hoses including the dreaded "Octopus". I also added a ground wire to the taillight housings and the bulb failure codes disappeared.
It still has very low miles (76K) but many of the common gremlins affecting these cars have already surfaced. Reading about them in here gives you a very good indication on whether you can tackle the work yourself or not. I enjoy taking on as much as I can and the assistance on here is invaluable.
On to ABS module this week and I have plans on changing the plastic chain guides out but later when it drops back below 100 degrees.
Thank you again.
