Default Diagnostic Help - Rear Window - With Video

Hey All,

My Rear Qtr window will not go all the way up or down. I am not sure what the issue is, I don't think it is off track and the motor seems to be working, but maybe weak. Any thoughts?

It is a failed window regulator mechanism. Cheapest option is a rebuilt unit at https://www.windowmotorworld.net/jaguar.html
They will rebuild it better than new.

Also sometimes they have rebuilt units in stock. You can then buy one and send your old one back for credit after the repair.

Thank you for your responses. Would something like this work if i did it myself or is the problem beyond the wires?

Not worth trying to repair the regulator do it yourself. There is a similar repair kit on Amazon but the reviews are not good:
Amazon Amazon
. This is not something you want to do twice when it breaks again. The rebuilder uses better than new quality parts.

sent it off, thanks for the info!

after removing the unit there is no way I want to do that again. I ended up taking off the motor assemble which made it easy but not sure how I am going to put it back in. I even unbolted the top. Oh well, I am sure I will figure this out as well, would have been nice if the engineers trimmed off a few millimeters from the assemble.

I did the repair and it broke 2 months later. I bought a whole new regulator for 400 and installed it. I was not doing a third time. It takes a lot of patience to install and adjust correctly.
