Just finished my cam chains, tensioners and guides.
Someone has suggested there is a different bolt to use for the LHS cam cover fixing nearest the cam position sensor.
Something to do with the steel effecting and magnetic action ‘Hall effect’ of the sensor.
Could not find a different bolt visually.
All looked the same from the top (8.8 stamped).
So as a precaution, changed that bolt and a slightly shorter stainless one.
Have a radio interference issue thought things might help but didn’t.
Anyone heard of this issue with the cam cover bolt nearest the cam sensor?
The bolt IS different on both covers in that location.
Someone has been there before you if it is the same as all the others.
Thank you for your reply.
Mixed them all up when removing.
Didn’t known there was a difference.
Do you know how it is different ?
shorter or different material?
PS - I don’t had a cam sensor on the RHS bank from what I can see.
