Default DIY seat skin replacement.

Ok, so my seats aren't SO bad but they look a bit worn, especially my side bolster (drivers side). No suprise.
I've been watching Rev Sam vid on repairing the headrest and realized how easy the seat backs look to replace the skins. Then I found a video of a bloke refinishing his seats and replacing the bottom cushion. Looks fairly easy as well.

Has anyone here done this entire job themselves? If so, is there anything you can add to make any easier! I got the battery disconnect for the airbag (which mine is throwing a 2 2 code, seat sensor anyway)

And, has anyone used the leatherette covers on ebay? They offer both leather and leatherette at about 1/2 the cost. Just wondered if how they looked. I think leather is 699 and leatherette is 350.

Any help would be appreciated.

I probably should resell my covers since they're not bad by most standards but I'm a bit OCD!! I want to enter my car in a couple shows this summer (viewers choice, certainly not factory divisions!!lol) and I think seat hurts it!!

I am in the same boat . I have looked at the original seat covers on e-bay for $ 750 both sides, seat ,back and headrest. I have a local upholstery shop that is very, very , reasonable. You want to do it once and right , the look, smell, feel and color. Just for a laugh I visited the dealership, for one side back cover only $ 3200. It's not that hard of a decision. Steve

Yeah, I'm calling my trim shop. They did my Mazda it it was really custom, suede, vinyl, piping, stitching, got pricy and only an old rx7.
Surely just to install pre purchased leather skins shouldn't be that much. If not for removing that electric headrest, which I could totally care less about, I'd try myself.
