Lightbulb Baby's first picture

Quick camera phone shot-

My recently (Friday) acquired 2000 XKR with modded grill, 500 miles on the rebuilt engine and 116k miles on the rest.

Not sure if the badges are original...

That's the color I was looking for. Carnival red with the beige interior. I settled for silver and black because I got an awesome deal, but I still think that the red and beige is the best looking. Nice choice.

Verrrrry nice! I'm envious of your cromed wheels. Enjoy.

I spent six months reading this site before I found and bought mine. I mostly just keep fishing for other people's problems so I have something to fiddle with on the car. I've been on here about a year and only have 38 posts on the meter. Got the major front end rebuild to get set up for. No other major things to do on this one thanks to the knowledge I picked up here prior to the purchase. This one will probably get an interior and new top in the future if I don't decide I'd rather get into a newer one.

If that is a 2000 model, I can see that the badging has been upgraded. The side repeaters have been added. The body side molding has been removed. Chrome wheels have been added. As you stated, the grill updated. This was also the colour combination I was looking for when I started my search. When I came across my 2001 Silver XKR and it didn't have a black interior, I jumped on the great deal I got on it.

Thanks for the info- it seems to be a common practice to "freshen" things up a bit.
Though the color is original, it is likely the paint itself is not.
The body is straight and the car handles well, so I am a happy camper.
