Default Door Panel Clips

2 broken door panel push pin retainers, HELP.

I have just removed the door panel on the drivers side and find that someone not very carefully removed the panel of my 2004 XK8 before me.

2 of the mount that hold the push in door panel are broken so will not hold a push pin. Does anyone know if this plastic mount is available so I could just glue on a new mount, or has anyone ever successfully repaired these.

The smaller yellow one is not available but the triangular one is. It is common to break them when removing the door panel.

There is even a service bulletin on how to fix them:

C2N3836 or C2N3837 depending on the side.

I tried ordering them from a couple of dealers recently and was told they are no longer available. So if you you find them, please come back and let us know.

It has been a while ago but I was able to get both sides from Gaudin Jaguar in Las Vegas.

These parts look like great candidates for someone to scan and reproduce on a 3D printer.

Reading another post about a member that created an iPhone Dock with a 3D printer, he indicated the part did not hold up when exposed to heat (installed on the coin tray) and warped.

There are lots of materials that can be 3D printed, including metals, it is all a matter of having (or having access to) the right equipment.

I was just able to order the triangle shaped fastener that is listed in the TSB. I got it from my local Jag Dealer here in London, Ontario. The second piece in the middle is not available so looks like some in order. Price was $24.95.

The only thing worse than finding all these plastic bits being used in areas that see high stress is when they stop making replacements for them. I suppose that someone clever enough can fabricate replacements for these pieces out of sheet metal or something.

All my ordered little bits and pieces cam in over christmas except the door panel christmas tree bracket. They tell me it is on back order and will probably not show up intil late April, early May.

Default I got the clips.

Here in Canada I got the clip about 2 weeks ago. Haven't had time to install yet. Just got back a couple of hours ago from a 2000 mile trip to Gaspe' Quebec. Car ran like dream, gas mileage is amazing and driving the coast highway in an XK8 is what dreams are made of.

I've PMd you a couple times. Have you received them?

I've also been in contact with my local dealer and they said these clips are not available. I'm at a loss with both of my door panels annoyingly rattling.

Default Door Clips - Availability

Just this weekend I repaired mine. I was waiting to get the remote top control module and installed it at the same time. I was able to order the top corner triangle part and got it from the dealer. It took about 3 months to come as thy were on back order. The centre clip I repaired with a combnation of fabrication and automotive goop. The top clip hot melted to the door panel no problem.
