Default Door unlock is having an odd moment!

Over the last couple of days when I have gone to unlock my XKR using the remote the door locks for some reason cycle between unlock and lock about 5 times. You can hear the locks unlocking and locking.

Pressing the remote buttons doesnt stop it.

It seems to lock OK its just the unlock, does anybody have any thoughts as to why this is happening?

Could very well be voltage related, however, if it continues to do it with the car running, its something else. I remember someone saying that his linkage was alittle difficult to move, either lubrication issues or a bind. The car will cycle the unlock/lock trying to get it get 'over the hump' so to speak.

Thank you for the replies the voltage issue is interesting as occasionally I get the ABS / TRAC not available warning and told that can be a voltage problem?

(This is a cut and paste from a sucessful previous thread)
Howdy Folks:
This is based on my observation of purposely pulling the Pass dr control module fuse #15 on the passenger side fuse box. I 'm currently doing this to prevent an additional ~50ma battery drain during idle periods exceding 3 days until I can get another Pass Dr module. l have been able to force this repetitive locking behavior by removing this fuse while both doors are open and the battery is connected. When I replace this fuse, I can get everything back to normal (except the excess battery drain).
I am not claiming this is your fix, but If you have not checked fuse #15 on both driver and passenger side fascia fuse boxes, I suggest this simple check. I hope this helps. Good luck.

DR D
Are you saying that the door module drawing excessive current is the culprit for this anomaly

Just like to add..... I have an S-Type that has similar problem, but the difference is that the XK lets you in but the S-Type has you running around from door to door like Charlie Cairoli to get in

Howdy Bob:
No, the current drain is only particular to my car. What I am saying is that a pulled or blown fuse #15 in the passenger side fuse box (or possibly the drivers side fuse box) in some instances will cause this repetition of locking and unlocking.
This is the link to a previous inquiry which the fuse was the culprit: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...r-locks-57285/

I disconnected the battery and the problem seemed to clear before I saw the comment re fuse15. I have also driven car so presumably battery has charged up.

So I will have to see if problem returns as not using car next week.

Having seen who else has had this problem, myself included, I wonder if this is a particularly English problem?

Update on mine - I think it could be a voltage issue as suggested. When I unlocked the car this morning it went through the cycle of locking and unlocking, so I checked and found the voltage down a bit. Throughout the day, I have not had a problem and the voltage has been normal.
