I think your wind noise test was a great idea. If the alignment/pressure isn't right you will hear wind noise (I've been there). Heres an idea that may help (don't remember where I got it from maybe the TSB on "Wind Noise" TSP 501-52): Take a piece of looseleaf paper, tear it into a strip, close it in the door between the window and the rubber seal. Try to pull it out. You will quickly identify areas of different pressure. When you can pull it out easily - that was the wind noise area for me.
You probably don't need this test now, then just sharing for the future.
