Drive Cycle...

Drive Cycle...
I replaced my vacuum hose, then cleared the codes...went to the emission testing place in order to title my 1999 xk8, but they got a 'Not Ready' message when they hooked up the OBD tester.
They said to check with the dealership to find out what the 'drive cycle' is, and after I have driven it for that distance (or time), bring it back and they will try the emission test again.
That's a new one for me coming from the midwest, and relocating to AZ.
Does anyone out there know what the 'drive cycle' for a 1999 xk8 is?
Thanks

Different codes have different 'drive cycles' required to clear the fault record. The easiest way to determine is to stop by Advance/AutoZone/PepBoys etc. that will read your codes for free.
There is a yellow light on the reader that displays whether the ECM has recorded adequate drive cycles. A very large number of Jaguar owners on this, and other forums, invested in a code reader shortly after purchase of their cars.
A $50 reader is adequate for most issues.
