Drivers seat back stuck in reclined position, help!!
Hi, I just got the car back from being detailed and noticed the drivers seat was reclined. On pressing the memory 1 button nothing happened and when I try the seat mounted switch that won't straighten it either all other functions like seat height, headrest etc work fine. Any suggestions appreciated, and can I get it up manually (if you excuse the expression!!), Thanks, Al

This is a known fault in the control modules for the seats. Over time, one of the electrical tracks on the circuit board gets worn, and once it breaks the module loses its ability to tell the seat motor to bring the seat back forward.
1. Short term fix: the modules for the driver and passenger seats are interchangeable. Raise both seats to their highest positions, then go underneath and remove the two small bolts holding the control modules to the underside of the seat assembly. Unhook the electrical connectors on both modules, and then switch them...install the passenger seat module beneath the driver seat. Hopefully the passenger module is still fully functional, and you will be able to bring the seat back forward. Just remember not to recline the seats until you've done the long-term fix.
2. Long term fix: I don't have many details here, but there are folks out there who repair the circuit boards on these modules for a small fee. One of our forum members (Test Point, I believe) has found a guy in California, for instance, who can do the work. You may have other options on your side of the pond.

Wiring for the seat module loves to rub on the rail and short out. Take a look and see if any wires are damaged. Detailers likely moved it full back and forward during the cleaning, which I suspect you never do.
One trick that works for mine when memory button 1 sticks is to press memory button 2. Even if you don't have it programmed, it will be different. Exercising it usually wakes up button 1 for me.

Driver seat adjustment not working
Hi. I am a new member and owner of a 2002 Juguar S Type. The power adjustments (front, bach, up, down, etc.) for the driver's seat recently stopped working. I replaced the module, but the issue wasn't resolved. I can hear a slight click when moving the adjustment knobs, but that is it. Is there another component to the driver seat power controls that I can look at?
