Smile Drivers Seat Problem

Yesterday I tried to lean the drivers seat back forward to access the space behind the seat. The release lever on the side of the seat back would not work. I fooled with it for quite a while until it finally released the latch and the seat could be tilted forward. Has anyone else had this problem and can advise me regarding a solution. I don't like having things like this not working as they should.

I assume you mean this lever to fold the seat forward? I had one years ago come into service not working, in which the cable had broken where it connects to the latch. There will be a cable that's attached to a latch at the bottom of the seat back where it attaches to the seat bottom, this may require some disassembly. Check to see if the cable has come loose or has broken. The latch could also be faulty, or something is preventing it from working properly. You can do it in the car, but may be easier to remove the seat and do on a workbench.

The cable will be inside this area if you peel the foam back, you should be able to see it operate.
