I know its not always possible Spurlee, but I have to agree with greenjewel. The dange done from these places can run $$$ on paintwork issues alone. Thousands of tiny scratches etched into your paintwork causing it to look flat and lifeless. Handwash is best if you can buddy

My 2000 XK8 previous owner ran it through car washes and it took me a LONG time and a LOT of work to get the clear coat back in shape and after a year I''m sill working on areas. Those machines really beat your car. Too bad there isn't a hand wash car wash in your area. They cost more but the people don't beat your paint.
