A drum again

A drum again
OK,
bought another car with a transmission issue. I have two in the garage that I had planned to fix and now is the time I guess. One had about 79K on the clock and good looking clutch plates, the other has about $130 and the plates are still good, but more worn than the other. My plan is to replace the A drum with a reinforced one along with the valve on the other and keep it for a quick swap if any of mine go bad.
I ordered a reinforced A drum and the pressure valve upgrade- has anyone done this? Can I just remove the part of the valve body that has the valve, or do I need to remove the whole valve body to replace?
Thanks!

To wrap this up- I replaced the valve and A drum, filled it at 30 degrees C and it is running like a top- took it around the block and on the freeway.
Interesting thing though- it is very tame in regular but in sport the car turns into a beast. Much more noticeable difference than my convertible of the same year.
