DTC for crankshaft&camshaft sensors
My car is a xkr my 2001 (4,0 ltr) and I have had the above problem for some time now and need new ideaas how to repair this problem. Both sensors have been replaced as well as the cables. But I have still the dtc error codes indicated and it is not possible to rev above 3000 rpm! On the other hand the engine goes very well below 3000 rpms and the fuel consumption is normal.
Any ideaas are welcome!

I recently had a 2000MY XJR in my shop for the CMPS circuit fault and there was NO fault with the CPMS or the circuit wiring from ECM to sensors.
I swapped a 2002 XJR ECM (I had to perform an IMMOBILIZATION SETUP) and the fault disappeared. The fault was in the ECM itself.
I reinstalled the original ECM (IMMO SETUP again) and the fault returned.
I reinstalled the 2002 ECM back into the 2002 car and performed an IMMO SETUP to return that car to original running state.
I ordered a used ECM from salvage yard for about $100 and installed it into the 2000MY XJR and performed an IMMO SETUP.
I still have the faulty ECM that can be used for testing except for the CMPS fault.
You need to circuit test the car before you start replacing modules but it could be the ECM itself.

Furthermore I can add that the engine/exhaust has been modified 4 years ago as follows:
Cold air induction system
Modified super charger pulley
Milltek exhaust system including racecats (200 cells)
Ecu upgrade
All above provided by Paramount Performance in the UK
Denso colder sparkplugs
Low temp thermostat
The engine is running fine but will not rev above 3000 rpms! Guess that I have to send the ecu to Paramount Performance for test unless there is some way to check it locally (Sweden). / Bo
