E-BAY ALERT: Set of 4 Impeller Wheels for $150
#22
Ebay results!!
Hi all just spent the last two afternoons working on the new wheels. The first day was spent cleaning the brake dust and road grim off the back, took a whole container of spray wheel and tire for four wheels. The curb rash was bad on two wheels and awful on one. The one was perfect, go figure. I had to get very aggressive on one, 100 grit sand paper and still left a few minor dings, all 3 footers, and if you are that annual, have at it.
I took the one good wheel to O’Reilly Friday morning and the lady worked on it through the day and came up with a surprising results. She put it in a spray can and it was more than I needed for three wheels. Very metallic, so if you don’t do this very much, practice or you will streak it. Being a spray can, it has a tendency to blob if it’s not real warm. I let it set in the sun between each wheel and shake it throughout the spray process.
Here’s the surprise, color code F3111IE. Their number, but I hate it but real code L92U, Porsche, Arktissil Ver – effect.
I’m including some pictures; see if you can pick out the one that didn’t need anything done to it.

Roth got it right the first time and THANKS A LOT!!! I had to go out and found a couple of small spots right out next to the tire and of course I wanted to make things as good as I could do it and now it is, thanks again Roth.
Just kidding, but it did need it after all.
The prize we got was finding the right paint, as the only way to tell were the over spray is was by feel. Buffed out two after painting the one and while moving stuff around I knocked one over and Murphy's law it fell on the front side and made a couple of small marks, here we go again, that's all done.
Checked the balance on a bubble scale and all were dead center, so will drive a bit and see if I need to go to Tire Discount, just didn't want to risk a major problem if they were way out.
Much cheaper than powder coat but the car is garaged most of time, maybe next time.
