Default An easy fix

Got in my 97 XK8 conv. yesterday and found that the CD player would not work. Had to go somewhere so i fretted all day as to how I would fix it,... pull the unit, rewire things, shop for a new one, or no more music. ( actually the radio DID work). Got home expecting the worst... checked the trunk and found that the umbrella had pushed the button to eject the cassette case... put it back in and all is well. Just about the easiest fix I have had on this car yet. :-)

Whew! Glad to know it happens to someone besides me. Ain't it great when it's just that simple?

Have your umbrella straps broken?

An easy fix-03-standard-umbrella.jpg

These Jaguar umbrella straps transferred from my X300 and X308 to two subsequent XK8's. Unfortunately the XK tailgate is too narrow for a standard umbrella.

You would have thought that the "British Standard Umbrella" would be one of the measuring units that Jaguars were built to conform to. Like the "British Standard Golf Bag".

Gone the same way as "Grace, Space and Pace".
