eBay XK8 with fraudulent tensioner photo
I decided to repost this thread. As in the original thread I pointed out that the photo in the EBay add the seller had used my 6 year old photo to support his replacement of the can chain tensioner. That auction has ended. See the original add in the address below.
1997 Jaguar XK8 Convertible | eBay
I tried to contact EBay about this fraud. The fraud being that publishing my 6 year old picture (see the following thread for the same picture) does not support his tensioner upgrade. The tensioner may not have been replaced. If this was the case the buyer would be buying a time bomb. It was essentially impossible to get through to someone using the website. I finally googled and got a phone number. Talked to someone that could barely speak English. Could not get point across. Requested an email address so I could send thread addresses that proves fraud. No luck there either. I did get a request for a survey on how good the service was. That is when I really sounded off, not that it will do any good.
If someone bought that car I hope they have it checked.

Not uncommon. Several Ebay auctions I approached were frauds. Saw a 1958 Ford(my 1st car) for a ridiculous price. Emailed seller. Normal response is they can't talk on the phone so email on.y. If you want to inspect the car it is in storage. Most often they offer shipping cheap or free. After searching on the netI found a set of the same pics at a Ohio classic car lot. I called and was told that the scams were wide spread. Thugs steal photos off the net and hope you will send the d posit. I called the FBI(interstate crime) . Iwas told this is usually an off shore gang and FBI was really interested. I then found an Bay auction with the same pictures, different location, same scam-"Oh I can't talk on the phone because I am deaf, etc". Over the years I have encounter this scam several times. If you ca't go see it or have it physically inspected, watch out.

I tried again get the attention of EBay. That is really hard to do. The only way is to call them on the phone and then you get someone that doesn't speak good English. If anyone knows a better way I will try again
