Electrical problems after rustproofing

We are having some electrical gremlins with my wife's 2000
XK8 since we had rustproofing done to the car. For one, the
windows do not go up or down except for the little drop they
do when you open and close the door - that works fine. Also,
If I lock the car with the keyfob and then try to open it with
just the key, the alarm goes off. The opposite is also true.
If I lock the car with the key and try to open it with the
fob, the alarm goes off. This has only been happening since
the car was rustproofed 2 weeks ago (Krown rustproofing here
in Canada). Krown says they have never, ever heard of this
before (of course). I am thinking either there is a short
somewhere in the wiring in the door or when they waved the
wand in the door they knocked something off. Any thoughts or
similar experience out there?

The first thing I would do is a hard reboot of the electrical system. You'd be surprised how often this simple procedure chases away the gremlins.
Disconnect the negative terminal from your battery, and then touch the negative terminal cable to the still-connected positive terminal on the battery. Keep the two in contact with each other for 15 seconds or so. Then reconnect the negative terminal, ensuring that both terminal connections to the battery are tight.
Then give everything a try. You will need to reprogram both window units...this is done by lowering each window fully and keeping your finger on the lowering button for an additional three seconds or so, until you hear a faint "click." Then raise each window fully, keeping your finger on the raising button for an additional three seconds or so, until you hear the "click." That's it.
Give it a whirl and good luck to you.

I worked on the car this past weekend and everything seems to be in order now. The problem with the windows was a blown fuse in the passenger side fuse box. The battery was fine, so I disconnected it to reset the system and hopefully clear the other errors. It still wasn't working properly Saturday night (had passenger door open messages even when the door was closed), so I left it for the night since it was getting dark. Sunday morning, the battery was dead. Charged it up and everything is fine now. Windows work, fobs work, keys work, and the battery is still fully charged today. Thanks for the help on this.
