Default Electronic nightmare

2002 XKR Convertible

I started with a map sensor code of P102 then received a trac not available with an abs light , and an engine light then my running lights stopped working and then got stuck in park.

I have been chasing around wires and blown fuses?

any ideas?

The links should help you out.

Link OBDII Codes http://www.jagrepair.com/images/Auto..._2001_OBD2.pdf

Link Wiring http://www.jagrepair.com/images/Auto.../jagxk2002.pdf

Link to ABS JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource

The ABS check list is for a MY 1999 but I think it is the same on the 2002. Good Luck!

well I spent the entire weekend reading most of this info, I started with the running lights wiring and the ground issue to the backing plates,-did not help running lights still don't work, then cleaned all the abs sensors, didn't help abs light still on, checked mafs connections/ wiring cleaned all pins and checked for tube leaks , didn't help restricted performance engine light still on checked for broken wiring /ground issues nope I am puzzled

I would reset the battery, remove the negative cable nd touch to the positive for 30 seconds, then reconnect the negative

You know what, I was not not even realizing hat may have happened, but if resetting the battery cable does not work, check your positive and ground cable in the trunk, remove and clean or replace the corroded giant fuses on the battery cables, and check you have 13.5 -14 volts when running last, this sounds like a alternator failure, or charging fault.

oh yes, many times it seems after checking all grounds tracing wires that for some reason in the luggage comp. fuse box intermittently getting a loss of power on every other fuse on one side and all middle fuses on other side my main fuel pump fuse loses power when the left tail lamp is unplugged? then when i ran separate wires to each tail lamp for driving lights out of the bottom of fuse box connectors, fuel pump would not energize, so i then ran wires to each side of bumper side mkr lights to lamp connections to by pass fuse box and only left side would light up , unless i grounded the wires running to the right lamp and i got power to fuel pump and all lights without ignition, in short (literally)

There is a nut in the driver side fusebox, that sends power to a whole lot of stuff, check it make sure it is tight, its gold in color,do the same for all nuts that are power or ground under the hood and trunk.

Corrosion on the huge mega fuses in trunk or alternator failure is usually the cause of this or a shorted brake light switch on the brake pedal or a blown fuse in the driver or passenger side fuse panel, you have one on each side(from a radio short).

I would be ready to take you car in Jaguar, as your body module may of lost memory and needs programming, no need to keep looking, because this is where everything is leading after researching the wiring diagrams, it appears you have no wiring fault, one of your modules or corrosion is to blame. They have a special scanner and can find it fast, and its not expensive for an hour diagnosis.
BEEN HERE DONE THAT

Just start your car up,check to see if you are getting 13-14 volts at the battery, then AFTER the mega fuses on your cables.

If you are, take the car to Jaguar so they can reset your control module, and scan the system, this is only a hour charge.Nothing can be done at home.

I will call you when I can get to a phone I have been using wifi to write you, there is no phone service where I am at right now.
