The elusive pollen filter
Hi All,
Curiosity got the better of me this weekend. My build sheet shows a pollen filter was fitted to a convertible which seems like an exercise in futility.
I popped the scuttle off and low and behold the unicorn was there, a black grubby pollen filter.
Obviously, it had been changed before as it is not OEM, but it must have been a very long time ago.
I have had the new filter for several years as the consensus was that no pollen filter were fitted to North American cars I never bothered looking.
Not the worst job to do, all in all about 90 minutes which included some cleaning and vacuuming the area of dust and debris.
Thanks to John @ To The Garage for the helpful hints on the job.

I don't remember how to add photos so there may be non or three the same!
Regards,
Karl

I have a 97 coupe and looked for the filter after watching TTG video and found the original in place so bought a replacement online.
The wipers were a bear to remove. Broke a wiper/battery terminal puller and needed liquid wrench and a small 3 pronged bearing puller to break them free. Go worried I might break the wiper arm!
If anyone is removing wiper arms, I suggest using masking tape on windshield to mark the 'resting' wiper placement and not mark the spindle with a sharpie to line things up for reinstallation. My markings washed away when I thoroughly cleaned the fittings.
