People and their inauthentic badges... Geesh! My PO decided to put a stupid Apple Corporation sticker on the trunk of my XKR. I must be out of the times but I do not get the concept of putting the logos of a for-profit corporation on my car.
Anyways, I have used goo-gone for things like that and it worked out really well. Never damaged the paint but I always made sure to clean the area with soap and water after using it just in case. For taking the emblem off or separating it from the car I would consider using something plastic and carefully prying it. Maybe even apply some goo gone to the seams first and waiting a few mins for it to start to loosen up the adhesive.
Just my two cents. Interested to see what the others suggest. Good luck!

Other trick is dental floss for "cutting" the adhesive.
Back in the day, some friends participated in the "One Lap" event across the US. It required putting a large number of sponsor stickers on the car you registered for the event. The recommendation to remove them was to use simple WD-40, of all products.
