Engine No Start - MY2003
Last Monday my car wouldn't start at going to work time - I wasn't all that hot on the idea either, but duty calls. It had been parked in the garage after running a trouble-free errand the previous day. After spending the week out of town I finally got a chance to look at it tonight and it was still all crank and no start.
I hooked up AutoEnginuity and no codes were posted. Fuel pressure was good (whew - looks like the pump is pricey). Pulled #2 plug and cranked - no fire. Checked for power at the coil - nada. The schematic shows an ignition coil relay (EM26) for early cars. I guess mine is early since it has the relay. Perhaps it didn't want to be so early since it tried to eject the relay. I found the relay sitting on top of the socket - a light push and it was back in. It lives under a black plastic cover on the RH side of the engine bay and was the only loose one - I checked them all.
Guess I'll check it again in another 8 years or 82,000 miles, whichever comes first!
