Exhaust advice????
All
Sorry to post yet another Exhaust question, but I am still struggling to understand a few things and have quite seen the answer, in the many posts I have read a sthey all go off in different tangents and then lose me.
I have 2001 XKR and want to give it a bit more V8 growl
My understanding is that the Adamesh straight pipe will most likley do the trick initially :-)
I then read that by changing various sections of the exhaust that i may be able to get a better sound and increase performance.
I am Still trying to get to grips with this, but what kind of perfomance can be achievied realisiticly?
Also is it better to buy exhaust parts such as Adamesh or have a specialist company make an exhaust for you and fit it?
Thanks in advance

The only real performance gain from exhaust work on these cars is freer flowing cats (see Nameless Performance for these). Going under the rear axle in stead of going over may net a little more power, but probably isn't noticeable. It is mostly about sound and look.
Better is in the ear of the beholder. I went full custom and got the sound I was looking for while paying less than the pre-made solutions.

I just put the nameless on and they sound a great deal better. I cannot compare the sound to the standard set up because mine are long gone. I now have the nameless cats with the factory silencer and the Mina under axle. there is a definate growl with this set up. But there is no drone at cruising speed. The growl comes back at acceleration. If you are looking for crazy growl, like Pissed off, look at Larini Club sport. This system is not cheap, $2400.00 to fit my 1999 xk8.

Removing a couple of the rear mufflers or the center will get you more noise.
The best sounding modification is getting rid of the factory cats.

Thanks Guys
I think I may pop down to my local Exhaust Specialist and see what they can manufacture and if they have built any exhausts for a Jag in the past.
I have a bit more insight on what im asking for and looking for to be able to ask the right questions when i get there to see if they know what they are talking about.
May leave the Cats to a later date and look at having straight pipes put through and under the axle.
