Yes I am. Plus, there is another section from those over axle pipes that replace the rear silcencers. They are advertised separately.

I have the cross over from Magnaflow. Works great and the sound is nice. You can get less expensive, there is a difference between the more expensive one and the less expensive....that being internal area. It does make a difference.

Guilty as charged. Lots of things going on right now, but I'll try to get something soon.

While on the topic of researching exhaust options I've seen a few posts asking for comparisons to astons.

I thought here was an interesting look at the system on a DB7.
Looks like there are no axle-resonators.
Also looks like the driver suffers from slight driving skill deficiency.

aaaak! youtube. can't see it.

... and it's usually moi doing the aston thing

Still, if you are saying that the Aston omits the before axle boxes, it makes sense because the Mustang V8's have a similar configuration. H pipe behind the transmission, pipes to the rear, and mufflers at the rear.

edit: something is forcing the font to blue, but the tag is not shown in the editor ... oh well

Just took the car in for the state inspection. While I was at my indy shop my mechanic, who loves to do exhaust work, asked when I was going to do my car. So I've been a little short on funds to do a whole system so I asked him if he had time to take out the center muffler and put an H pipe in. We cut the center out fabricated an H pipe out of 2-1/4" pips and a 2" H connector, welded everything in and wala. It took about an hour (for the inspection too) to cut the muffler out, fab the H pipe and weld it in place. $85

I love the sound. Its pretty tame at idle, but gives a little growl under acceleration. Not too much and not too little, I think its just right for a jag.

Hello:
Just wondering if you have experienced any drone? I want to do my XKR, a little growl at idle and acceleration but I want it QUIET on those long highway cruises I have down here.
Thanks!

I did that to my 02 XKR, cut out the first big can and put an H between the two replacement pipes. Bit of a burble at idle but very quiet until you really stepped on it then it howled. Very nice. No drone.

I regret taking out the center muffler. Take out the rears first.

Removing the center muffler is really only good if all you do is putt around. If you floor it, it's unbearably loud to anything outside your car. Find an underpass and test how loud it gets....

^xeno, that's strange you would say that, everyone else who's done similarly says it just increases the volume and lowers the tone of the exhaust some. now I need a video with some sound to hear your car...if you can oblige.

If you're a very mellow driver and rarely ever push it past moderation, then yes, it's probably a very decent upgrade and unless you're in a convertible and happen to pass something that is extremely sound reflective you probably wouldn't ever notice.

Driving with the top down and flooring it? After listening to it for a good while... (I've had this mod for over 3 months now) there's just something off with the resonance besides being too loud under maximum acceleration.

I've decided to scrap my whole exhaust in favor of something designed to be more aggressive instead of trying to imitate a sound.

I'm sorry, I don't really have any good way of recording. Most of my friends are beyond computer illiterate, but I'll try giving it a shot.
