Extra hints on the ABS module !!
I did that repair last night and it works great!!!
Some gotchas:
1. If finishing with a putty knife move the blade in so that less than a 1cm is cutting--- There is a surface mounted diode EXTREMELY close to the edge on some boards- Mine was- #$%@@mit!
2. Pull the washer fill tube with blue top completely off-- Easier--
then.. use a sharp point (I used a 12 volt circuit tester prong into the top to hold it out - made a tiny hole but wont leak- to hold it in place while you twist the filler tube back on -
3. Dont forget to plug the plugs back in before hastily admiring your soldering adeptness !!!!! I fired her up, then realized i forgot to plug the plugs back in Duh---too late ---codes logged--HEARTATTACK when driving along and the Check Engine Light came on throwing 2 codes P1643 and P1637( read by Autozone)-they went away after read/reset.
Other than that extremely easy repair !!!
Many thanks to the person who posted that fix !!

I did cleaned the ABS sensors and resoldered the ABS module last weekend, and I also forgot to plug in the two connectors for a moment. After starting the car, all heck broke loose. It's not recognizing my part replacement, a check engine/ABS light came up and my speedometer's not working. I went ahead and put a Autozone Gold battery in the car. They reset the computer, but it's still kicking out the P1637 and P1000 codes--no others.
I think I'll yank the module, resolder one connection and reinstall it. Then do a hard reset on the battery cables. If still putting out the codes, I'll probably get online and order another ABS module from one of the good salvage yards.
Sometimes, it's just step by step.
