First WOT Run with Eurotoys Upper and Lower Pulleys
Just minutes ago I had my first WOT run from 30-110 mph, as I noticed a G37 provoking me in my rear view mirror. It felt like a healthy amount of power and certainly an improvement over stock. The power is felt much faster but seems to plateau as well. Too bad for me that I couldn't pull away from him. I have no way of knowing whether he was at WOT but he was on me like flies on ****...a rather disappointing confrontation. Time to start a twin screw piggy bank I suppose.

I know I know...and the kitty is certainly a beauty. I still think its a shame that a G37 sedan (a 3812 lb car +2 passengers) with a naturally aspirated V6 (rated 328 hp) can easily keep up with the XKR with far more horsepower (w/ upper and lower pulleys) . I don't fully understand it, but it is what it is and in the short time I've owned the Jag, I've grown more and more fond. I just wish it had more *****...especially in the 0-60 range.
Actually, so far I've had 3 confrontations (I wouldn't call them races) but each time the opposing party drove away more gratified than me; ALL sedans too...300C, Lexus and now a G37 sedan.

The curb weight of the G37 is about 3,600 pounds which is about 400 pounds less than the Jaguar. If you use a 0-60 calculator you will see that weight has a pretty significant on acceleration so I would not be all that surprised to see the G37 keeping up (at least for a while) with the Jaguar.

I also think that some of those Asian cars are underrated in terms of horsepower and/or the way they deliver the horsepower. We also have a 2012 Acura TL that is supposed to be about 280HP but feels incredibly responsive. I was in my XKR alongside an Infiniti Q50 recently and that car kept tearing off the line from a red light--same for Lexus GS I have seen and ridden in.

Are you in regular mode or Sport mode during these racing adventures?
In normal mode the cat "learns" how you drive. If you normally drive conservatively (I assume you are not always racing) or do not engage in highway speed bursts at 40-60+ often, then it will remap itself to make the best engine management. It does so on the conservative side.
I do daily highway driving, some stretches at 70-80 mph average. In normal mode if I decide to punch it at speed it certainly goes, but it is not dramatic. Change to Sport and even with my NA XK8, it makes a difference.
When working on the blue cat, I occaisionally need to disconnect the battery. I usually do a reset when I connect it back up and the first few times I drive it, it seems like a different car.
Just a thought.

My daily commute, which is most of my driving, is approx 15 miles (one way) with light traffic, a few stoplights and a 5-6 mile stretch of open road where I might reach 60-65 mph. I really have no choice but to drive conservatively when commuting in even light traffic...so your assumption is correct in that most of my driving is not aggressive or racing.

I view my car as rolling art, and don't really care who is faster than me. I have had some cars that were scary fast, but they weren't JAAAGS, as Jeremy Clarkson would say. There is something about having a vehicle that people lust after, instead of something that makes a lot of noise and smoke......Just my 2 cents. I will never sit on vinyl ever again, just to rattle windows, and scare small children........Be cool.....Mike
