Default Flooding

Hi Guys
Over the christmas i had a coil pack go down so ordered another, because of the bank holidays it took till Jan 3rd to get to me so car was stood for almost 2 weeks.
Fitted coil pack started car but it died instantly strong smell of petrol. Took out plugs removed pump relay spun engine to get rid of excess fuel,couple of sqirts of oil ineach cyl. Tryed to start with foot to floor engine tried to run but would not keep running, do any of you have any ideas please.

Have you checked for fault codes?

Keep trying. I had this happen in the past also. From what I recall it took several 5 or more attempts to get running. Make sure you have a fresh and fully charged battery. And when it did start it took several minutes of coughing and chugging until it ran right.

Check the injector relays...... I have had them come loose before and went through the same procedure you have now.... They lie under the bulkhead covers under a small cover fixed to the inner wing, on each side, make sure they are pushed in fully..... Closing the bonnet/hood causes them to come out

Agree with MaxHeadroom....royal PIA with these cars. Try spinning engine again with either pump relay or pump fuse (trunk) pulled until you build up oil pressure. Maybe do this a few times. Hopefully the oil splash will help build up compression while clearing the excess fuel. Then go at it again everything connected, and "play" with the throttle until she hopefully lights up..........
Then, Restore every oil change from now on.Best of luck.
