Fob
Hi All,
Tried to lock the cat & FOB wouldn't work so I tested the battery & it was bad so I replaced it. I then proceeded to lock her & it wouldn't work. I read in the manual that if U push a FOB button it has to be programmed by the dealer. How does one know when the battery is going to take a crap without pushing the button. It doesn't make sense. Could someone shed some light here? All the other cars I have owned had a binding proceedure after battery replacement.
Thanks,
Mike

As does your car:

. . . and if that doesn't work:

The difference being the reference to depressing button or buttons 5 times.

+1 to test point's links for reprogramming the fob
FOB programming is a DIY job; KEY programming is a Dealer job.
There's usually some warning that the fob battery is on the way out. Normally having to get closer to the vehicle to lock/unlock is a good indication.
You can change a fob battery without losing the programmed link to the vehicle provided you don't press any of the buttons while changing the battery. If you do accidentally press a button (or take too long to change the battery), it will have to be reprogrammed.

And maybe clean the inside of the fob if it's black and dirty as well, mine wasn't working last week, cleaned the inside, and now it works fine again, check my other thread with how to do it if you are unfamiliar.
And is it just me or is the range on these remotes ridiculously bad? And take a lot of pressure to make them work?
