Very sad and quite unexpected. I enjoyed her posts and also had several PM discussions with her. She will be missed here.

So sad... She was a bright light here, seemed like the kind of person you would like to know. May she rest in peace.

48?! Dear Jesus, how the Hell does this happen? What a loss. I do hope her son finds his way - he was certainly expecting her to be around for while.

As much as I enjoy our Forum, I will now always have a empty place in my heart when I arrive here.
You will be missed by all who knew you, RIP.

Hello, all--my name is Chris, and I have been asked to help inform online communities that Ally belonged to about her passing...seems this community is already informed.

Ally and I bonded over our love of Jags, and would often meet for lunch together with our cars. Evan would often be in tow. Recently, she was excited to show me (as she always was!) her latest mods to her XKR, which had just come back from the shop.

All I can add here is that:

-- Ally's ashes were scattered in the Pacific on Sunday morning, off Dana Point.

-- This has been a brutal flu season in LA, due to the awful air quality from the fires. She and I were both sick for two months or so with bronchitis. According to her friend in charge of her estate, Ally developed strep, then pneumonia. By the time she was admitted to the emergency room, it was too late.

Two further impressions that might be of importance to this community:

First off, just a reinforcement that Ally was absolutely smitten with her XKR...she was putting many, many more miles on it than she thought she would because it brought her so much happiness. She was always encouraging me to go to Jag and Cars And Coffee meetups with her. She consistently customized her car, really making it 'her own'. Her most recent mods were to upgrade the headliner, have it wrapped in a more translucent shade of bluish-gray, and--no kidding--have her calipers sprayed a metallic vermillion/pink shade. She consistently forwarded me pics of the work in progress at the shop, and was excited to bring the results by and show me in person, which she never got to do.

Ally was the absolute definition of what a great female car enthusiast can be. A true glam girly-girl (she frequently showed me pics on her phone of designer high heels she was saving up for to add to her collection), it would be typical for a woman like Ally to buy her XKR as a flashy fashion statement and recoil at the thought of learning anything about its workings.....instead, Ally threw herself into learning about all aspects of the car, including its workings and upkeep, and got her hands dirty doing some simple mods herself. When she purchased new rotors, she sent me pics of them when they arrived, just like she sent pics of new shoes she purchased. She was the ideal of how a super-femme woman could become a conscientious car owner.

Lastly, I'd like to point out that she was truly devoted to her son Evan, who I met often. Ally also was the most compassionate member of her family who took care of her elderly, ailing mother. A single mom, Evan's future is on everyone's mind. He and Ally were extremely close.

Evan has requested that the XKR not be sold. Ally and I joked with Evan about how cool the car would be as a modern classic when he reached driving age, and Evan has asked that the car be saved for him.

As stated above, Evan's GoFundMe can be found by searching 'evan oliver cipriani' at the website.

Thanks, Chris, for all the intimate details, for which I'm sure we are quite grateful.

48 is very young. I hope her son is not too young and that he has other family besides her.

21st century, with all the technology we have, and it's still possible for a flu to take somebody that young. It's crazy and extremely sad. I didn't realize this could still happen in this day and age. So sorry.

Her ex-husband put a note in her obituary Guest Book asking the whereabouts of the son.
