front air dam

Hello, I believe this is the case .
There is a black plastic piece that goes from side to side and about 14" or so back.
I believe it is there for a couple of reasons.
Proper air flow, radiator and oil cooler protection etc. .
It is called Plastic undertray Jaguar part # HJE 6484 AB
Cost about $270.00 from Jaguar.
$243.80 from Jagbits.com (Talk to Gary)
http://jaguar-parts.jagbits.com/hje6484ab
Ps. Don't forget to buy clips to secure!
Happy Motoring...

I had to buy an undertray recently, $188 from Davis Auto Group (www.partswebsite.com). Shipping is the worst part because it's considered oversize by UPS.
I've found their prices to be good and they check the part against your VIN and will let you know if you are asking for the wrong thing for your particular car.
Easy to install, don't even need to jack the car up. It is supposed to be put on with plastic rivets but you can also use metal clips and screws.
The part that goes over the front cross member has plastic inserts that the retaining screws thread into. Mine had disintegrated which is why the middle part of the undertray broke loose at speed. The inserts can be sourced at Autozone or the like, usually in the licence plate section as they are a small version of the square hole type.

If you want to save some money, talk to one of our forum sponsers, Nalley Jaguar. When my undertray got damaged, I picked it up for $108.38 and free shipping. Talk to Dan and tell him you are a member here. The plastic rivets can be picked up at your local parts store for cheaper than you can get them from Jaguar.
Kevin, I doubt he is looking for #10. That is the chrome splitter for the grille.

Mine is nicked up and partly gone on one side but still about 80% there. I have always thought that it would really come into play in the higher speeds, over 125 or so to help with downforce, and since I don't intend to drive my car that fast, it has not bothered me.
Which part is that on the schematic, or is that little piece integral to the entire undertray?

That's what I was getting at, I was thinking that he was talking about the rubber "air dam", or whatever function it performs, that extends down from the undertray, not the entire undertray.

This is what the undertray looks like installed.
The two sides are larger, almost triangle shaped with a connecting bar that runs across the lower cross member.
The rubber "squeegee" like part is not a separate component so the options are to replace the whole thing or come up with some kind of a DIY fix.
