Default Front hub removal question

I'm going to be replacing my front wheel bearings on my 2005 XK8. I want to remove the hubs and take them to a shop to have the new bearings installed. From what I can gather, in order to remove the hub assembly I have to pop the upper and lower ball joints, the tie rod joint and the speed sensor on each wheel. Does the assembly then just slide off the axel or is it more involved than that? Thanks for any info.

I would assume the brakes are going to have to be removed. Calipers will have to be unbolted from their carriers and hung aside, rotors removed, and maybe caliper carriers removed as well.

Yup, calipers, etc. will come off. Hoping the unit will then just slide off the axel. Will probably take the opportunity to paint the calipers red and the wheels gloss black. Think that will really look great on a silver car with a black top.

Should not have an axle to even get off of, the car is rear wheel drive.

Thanks so much. You'd think that having just replaced most of the front suspension, I'd remember what it looked like. Getting old is an adventure every day!
