Front Top Shock Mounts

Not clear from the pix if the rivets are flat head or button head but pretty much all blind rivets are made to readily available standard sizes. My OEM mounts were drilled and countersunk (120 degree NOT 82 or 90 degree) for flat heads, 5/32" dia. x 3/8" grip length with a 0.083 shank (slip fit for 3/32").
The URO mounts I had were also drilled and countersunk for flat heads, but a size bigger, 3/16" dia. x 3/8" grip length with a 0.114 shank (slip fit for 1/8"). Weirdly, despite the countersink they had used button head rivets. I drilled those out and replaced with 3/16" flat heads because I wanted to be sure the top mount was sitting flush under the shock tower, not on just 3 rivet heads.
I might order two of the Blackdog kits and put them in my now empty old mounts, ready to replace the URO's when they crap out next week....LOL

STLTHMSTA:
I have the same compressor, but not the solid square blocks you have for holding the springs as their compressed. could you give me a source for the square blocks, or are they "Home-Made"?
If you made them, is it possible to make me a pair--cost pre paid of course.
Thanks,
Chuck

Hi Chuck, fortunately for me I have a friend (motorhead) who runs a machine shop. We are often dreaming up solutions and making stuff. The original "forks" that came with it were sloppy and allowed the spring to pop out, not good. So I took some measurements and we figured an answer. I could take some measurements of the finished product and send them to ya. As you can see being able to do the job and do it safely was the goal. It is quite easy to disassemble (no disassemble says #5) and reassemble the strut. No fear of taking my own head off or buying a new windshield.
The compressor works very well as it was but didn't hold our type springs very well. TM
