Fuel pump replacement

Fuel pump replacement
Recently I had to replace a fuel pump. I could not disconnect the lines in the bottom of the tank. I tried home made tools first, then tools from The Harbor Freight and finally better ones from Snap-On. Still no go. Thus, I decided to cut an opening above the fuel pump assembly and proceed from there. It worked. The pump (not Jaguar original but one for Mazda for $ 20.00 shipping included) was replaced. But there is another problem. To get the assembly out I had to cut some of those vent houses. I did not think twice about it. They were hard and replacing them seemed to be right thing to do. What a nasty surprise when I went to Jaguar dealer. This piece of rubber costs $ 97.00. I did not buy it and I am looking for alternative. The best solution would be eliminate the whole set-up anyway. because it has somewhere a large leak that throws out P0455 code following about 3 minutes long Performance restricted mode. I was not able to find a leak.
has anyone a better solution to this outrageous hose pricing?
Can the P 0455 induce "Performance restriction" mode? Or is unrelated issue? Sometimes I get it a few times a day, sometimes I drive 500 miles till it pops-out (and returns to normal after a while).
