Fuse rating for Bosch intercooler pump
I'm going to replace my AVP intercooler pump that has failed with the Bosch 010 pump, just wandering if I should just keep the same rating fust that the Hella pump used or if I should change it? I think it's a 15 amp fuse as standard, I just want to make sure I don't end up killing my new Bosch pump?

According to the literature the Bosch 010 pump draws a maximum startup/running current of 6 amp so the 15 amp fuse is still the correct value.
The fuses main purpose is to protect the wiring (prevent a fire etc) should the pump develop a problem and draw excessive current.
I fitted the Bosch pump to my XKR 12 years ago and it is still working OK. Already lasting longer than the original.

My original Hella pump actually still works but I replaced it thinking it was dead because the pump wasn't running. Turned out the fuse had just blown, bit of a silly thing to do on my part but I figure now I should jsut replace it as most people say they do fail and the 010 pumps are meant to perform better. I know the intercooler is a weak point on our cars. Hopefully my Bosch pump just works and isn't defective like that crappy AVT pump I got is.
