Default FYI SNG Barrett

Just got off the phone with the folks from SNG Barrett, purchased the expansion tank and 2 upper front shock mounts for $331 including shipping. The upper shock mounts will be arriving at the distribution area Friday and shipped to me the same day. It has been a pain trying to find some one with the shock mounts in stock. Not sure how many mounts are arriving, but if you have been on hold due to "not in stock" and don't like backorders, this maybe your opportunity.

I will say the parts tech was great to deal with and looking forward to my orders arrival. Jim

Got my mounts from SNG Barratt as well. Nice fit and a match for the OEM version.

Only word of caution is on the studs that hold the mount to the fender well. They are powder coated or painted, not sure which. You must clean this off first or you will mess cross-thread trying to tighten the nuts down.

If you encounter any resistance beyond finger tight when putting on the nuts...stop! You will mess up the threads. I actually had one stud snap off when I got too aggressive with it. Several other forum members have remarked on this issue as well. Once cleaned up, no problem.

I ordered mine as well but for a grand total of $292 including shipping. It was about $243.00 total. Did you forget to write "Jaguar forums member discount" in the comment box during check out to get the 10$ discount?

I think that should be stickied somewhere.

Edit: I just noticed you also ordered the expansion tank. How much was that?

My next big purchase from them is going to be that darn blasted octopus hose and I'll order the valley hoses from Tony.

The valley hose is the one that goes under the intake to the tstat housing??? How many are there? My 03 I see just one. Is that octopus hose the same on all the jags or did that change that also in 03, mine is sweating right up by the TB above the trans bell housing, looks like some type of plastic fitting is on that hose set.

Valley hose are two and they are under the intake manifold. (Where they get cooked up by heat). The octupus, aka the heater hoses, connect directly to the valley hoses behind the engine and between the firewall. The octupus hose can be bought as an assembly and they are quite uncomfortable to work with.

I have no idea about the difference between the model years.

giandanielxk8 the cost of the tank was around $106.. I had called them due to the shock mounts were listed on back order. After I made my original post I received a call and an email that the mounts were not on the shipment arriving on Friday and would be arriving on Sept. 4th. The were going to ship the tank and their would not be any additional shipping cost when the mount arrived. What can I say great customer service and then contacting the customer by phone and an email when issues arise. Service like this gains long term customers!!!! Jim
