Gas smell inside of car

Gas is very smelly, so you should be able to track the source of it. Take the engine cosmetic cover off and look around. Folks have had leaks at the dampeners on the fuel rail. I have experienced a leaky fuel pressure sensor, right at the end of the rail. Temperature permitting, check for wet spots around the rail and use the smell as a guide. And yes, this has the potential to be a big safety risk. Carry a fire extinguisher around until this is resolved.

Conditions noted: after filling up tank; when heat is turned on ( not often in FL) ; and after car has been driven- never at first start and drive. Smell periodically - maybe once a week. Smell seems to come from passenger side, under glove compartment. Not noticed smell in boot area or trunk.
