gearbox fall out
Hi Since my last post it has been decided that the final drive shaft has let go in my gearbox.
No fault light which i find strange..
I swapped the box only 5 weeks ago with a Donor Gearbox because of the usual master clutch fault..The Gearbox i bought came with no warranty and was fitted by auto box proffessionals..
Drove perfectly until today when it let go...just a bang and then no drive, and with no faults on the display...Just revs when in drive but does make the engine drop a note when put in reverse or drive so i am guesssing the torque converter and the rest of the gear box is working but the final drive isnt?? Should i have the box removed and the main clutch fitted to my original gearbox..And then have that refitted to the car..OR should i have the final drive taken from the original gearbox and then fitted to the the box that is in the car??
Any specialist help would be appreciated in this expensive dillema..
