Has anyone ever taken a mechanics class for non mechanics?
I thought it would be fun to take, I have checked the local community colleges and technical institutes and have not found anything that would interest me. I get my info of Youtube, but some hands on would be cool.
3 years ago I never went under the hood, now I am doing more and more our 3 cars (Jag requires the most.......)

Agreed. I think your best bet is to continue to do what you're doing. Reading the forums, posting questions on them, watching related youtube videos, etc. It's a slow and steady process, just like anything else that requires an accumulation of knowledge and experience. One advantage that can greatly help you is to find a friend/neighbor who has worked on vehicles since they were a teenager and has built a home shop. Spend some time with him, offer to assist on his upcoming repairs or projects, ask him to show you around his shop. You'll quickly add to your knowledge and skills and enjoy the camaraderie at the same time....
