Headlight Washer Cover

Headlight Washer Cover
Have you ever been going down the road when you see a sign that says uneven road surface? Well I was driving down the road, made a left turn saw no sign and drove over a seam in the road (transition) between the old and new road surface that just about knocked my eyeteeth out. Well this morning I check what I could and saw no visible damage with the exception of the headlight washer cover on the driver’s side is missing. Is this a part that can be acquired independently?

I also posted elsewhere but the problem I have is that I lost the little shiny cover on the driver's side during my last servicing of the car about a month ago. I suspect it fell off when the mechanic was going through the standard checkup items.
Anyway I bought a new one and tried fitting to the nozzle but when the nozzle moves back in the cover pops off. It seems to me that the nozzle is moving back in too far--any way to adjust this?

Well now it is a moot point since while futzing around with the stupid thing the plastic bits on the front to the nozzle broke--again cursed by cheap lousy plastic parts!!!
Anyway now I have to choose what to do. Apparently you cannot get just the cheap plastic piece on the front of the nozzle so I will have to buy the entire powerwash assembly. Then I wonder how hard this is to remove and install?
Otherwise I can envision a makeshift repair consisting of gluing a small piece of dowel or something on the front of the nozzle and having the other end glued into the socket on the powerwash cover piece.

Guys drop member autobahn kid a PM. He is salvaging several XK8's and might be able to help with parts. I talked to him last weekend about some misc parts, very nice guy.

What I found out after repainting my car was when installing these covers you need to be able to hold the washer pump by the stem that your attaching the cover to. If you try to push on it from the front without holding it, it doesn't seat all the way. It's a real pain in the A__. I disconnected mine because just like BRGJAG stated it throws water all over your clean car.

Nevertheless the expense of the powerwash assembly itself is not all that bad but I expect the labor to get this stupid thing in will be $200 since you have to remove the headlight which is probably a simple task for a mechanic but likely a pita for diy.

Clarification
I am attaching a photo to show what I am talking about with this idiotic part. You can see that there is the lousy plastic bit that actually clips onto the stem and this is what ends up breaking apart. I was wondering if these can be sourced separately? But then again you would have to go through the hassle of removing the headlight to get to this assembly so I suppose buying a complete new powerwash makes sense.
