Default Headlights and Center Console Buttons

Hey All,

So I just took delivery of my 2013 XKRS and there are a couple of minor things I want to fix and wondering what the path of least resistance would be for each.

1) The center console buttons are getting a bit worn/rubbing off. Does anyone know if you can replace the buttons individually or do you have to replace the entire console?

2) There is condensation in my headlights. Do you know if this is repairable?

3) The jaguar logo on the steering wheel is dented (no clue how this even happens). Do you know if I can just pop it off and replace it?

pictures included for reference.

  1. Don't know but possibly.
  2. Probably needs to have the seal refurbished if there are no cracks in the headlight lens?
  3. Again, not sure but I think it's highly likely this can be done. You could alternatively attempt to open up the steering wheel (be careful that the airbag doesn't activate, I suggest you disconnect the battery and wear an anti-static bracelet), and pop-it back into position, if it's possible.

Ultimately, you would be better off posting in the correct forem, which is the X150 XK/XKR forum. This is the forum for the prior gen steel-bodied X100 that was sold from 1997 to 2006 in the US (1996 - 2005 in UK).

I don't know much about the X150 headlight, but if, unlike the X100 headlight, which is a two piece design with a gasket, it is a single piece with lens glued on. You will need to buy butyl glue and stick the headlight in the oven or use a heat gun to separate the lens and apply the new butyl. Again, use the heat gun to soften the butyl and press the lens into place.

Also, make sure that any vents if present, are not clogged or blocked off.
