Lightbulb Heat Soak Minimizer for the XKR ?

As some of you know, I solicit for XK8/XKR product ideas on my website.

I have actually recieved some really good ideas over the last year since I put my site up. Of course, I cannot do them all, so it is only the very best, feasible ideas that I actually consider implementing into a product.

Someone today suggested thermostatically controlled fans for the intercooler. It seem like it would be fairly straightforward to build a little add-on controller to turn on the exisitng fans any time the intercooler fluid is some preset temperature above ambient, and therefore minimize the heat soak effect which is prevalent when pushing our XKRs hard.

This should be a relatively inexpensive way to squeeze noticebly more performance from the Rs.

I hope to do some testing to prove the concept soon.

Although something already exists if you can make an cheaper design its always welcome ;-):

It will only work on the 4.0 cars, but it will work, just never go the time to fit it.

For the 4.2 cars its more difficult as there the fan control unit is being commanded via CAN messages to select a certain speed. Now if you could build that, it would be great for a wide community. If not via can messages, am not sure if you could tap into the PMW control (between the fan control and fan), but if so would also be great.

Just checked for someone else if the product was still available, but you can't see the article anymore on their website. Just to give a heads up as I am sure everyone that is spinning the supercharger faster will be interested.

Thanks for checking Avos. I could not find it either.

I have added it to my upcoming planned product list: Upcoming Products - TheJagWrangler
