Default ''HELP''......................errant wire ID

This odd looking wire dropped down whilst i was getting ready to pull my fuel tank.

lt comes out of a loom at the top of the left rear wheel arch (inside) of a 1999 convertible. ls it supposed to go somewhere of is it just another 'Jag moment' ? Kinda scared to put power to it now

Cheers

Looks like some kind of antenna wire. Could it be the old phone antenna?

Hi,
It is for the car phone antenna, as bobhoff suggests.

It should have a cap on the end to keep moisture out.

Mike,
I don't need a cap on mine. I'm in California and we don't have any moisture or water. We should have the car covered in fire retardant due to the wildfires.

Good Day,
Bob

Yours looks as if it already is capped.
If you're short of water, we've got plenty here
