I have a 2001 XKR (51PLATE), all of the gauges apart from the rev counter is giving false readings. Im doing approx. 70mph and the gauge is showing 130mph.
The fuel gauge Is showing approx 60miles of fuel in but the digital display is showing 300+
Temp gauge similar, any feedback on what the fault is or how to fix,
Thanks

This could happen if your battery died and you recharged or jump started. The gauges are stepper motors controlled by a computer. The data registers which contain the zero position and the scaling factors that control the movement of the gauges can be corrupted by low battery voltage.
A hard reset, or simply disconnecting your battery for about a minute, then reconnecting, it will allow the system to reinitialize and should solve the problem.

I've bit the bullet and bought a new battery (the other one was tested and showing as ok) however the car is still playing up- the gauges are all over the place- false readings. It's ok when it's cold but changes after 2-3 miles. It is charging fine. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated (or anywhere I can send the clocks to be tested),many thanks
