Default Help to identify wind deflector

I bought my 2001 XK8 Convertible from Arun UK and it came with a wind deflector stowed in the boot. Unfortunately there are no brackets fitted for it, so maybe it was off another car. Can anyone help to identify the manufacturer of the wind deflector, then maybe I can buy just the fitting kit. Thanks!

I have one installed in my 2001 Xk8 Vert as well. I don't see any lables or branding so I can't help with the name...

I just ordered one that looks identical from Windschott für Mercedes, BMW, Mazda, Peugeot uvm. bei Windschott.de - Index in Germany. They sell on EBay, but I had to order directly from their website to get one in Beige to match my interior.

Thanks, but unfortunately it is not the same as the German one. There is just one fixing bolt at each side of my wind deflector. Any more suggestions?

Cool

Adamesh emailed me the fitting instructions with pictures and it looks the same. Unfortunately they can't supply me with just the fixings, only the complete unit. So I will have to make up some brackets to fit. Thanks for the help.

I managed to fabricate some brackets and fitted the wind deflector. Just a spanner is required for one nut each end to remove/refit. Really does make a big difference to driving comfort.

Yours is the exact same one as mine and I posted photos somewhere of closeups of the bracket attachment. Anyway when I needed a few extra nylon washers after much hunting around I finally was directed to these guys:

I emailed back and forth with Adrian and he was kind enough to send me some extra washers as these are the wind deflectors that they happen to deal with. So they can probably get all the other little bits and pieces if you need them.

You wrote that you recently bought a wind deflector from Windschott.de. So did I, but I didn't receive any mounting instructions at all. I've written to them a number of times asking for an installation sheet, but no replies.

Did you receive instructions with yours?

Do you know where the brackets in this photo attach? I assume the two flat arms on the rear of the deflector that fit through the gaps at both ends of the seat back somehow engage with them. Can you help please?

Default no brackets windscreen alternative....plexiglas or Lexan windscreen

no brackets windscreen alternative by WINDBLOX :

- attaches/detaches in seconds/minute or two, no driiling, no special brackets, no screwing up your upholstery.
- comes in many tailorable colours and edge trim options
- straps can be colour coded to your car interior colour
- windscreen is precisely template auto laser-cut to your vehicle make, year and model....
- it attaches in mere minutes and you still have use of the back seat area unimpeded ( ....I throw my groceries etc back there...)
- got to the WINDBLOX website for details and reviews and video.
- real head-turner when you cruise by other convertibles ....
- with the further lower area panel attachment you can fully seal in the cockpit area and cruise top-down with the windows up. in cold weather on a sunny November day ......in your closed-in cockpit "cocoon" with the heater on .....

Windscreen Windblocker Wind Deflector for your Convertible

I have the smoke colour one paired with my black-on-black-on black ragtop: pics attached on my 03 XK8.

My buddy has a clear plexiglass unit with light green edging to pair on his silver jag to give that "real tempered glass" appearance effect, even though it is plexiglas. You will only need LEXAN in rare circumstances (actually dissuaded on the website ...see details and you save money for an unncessary upgrade to LEXAN)

highly recommended...

It does not have to be removed when you put the top up (unless you want to of course)

It has its own protective sleeve provided and can sit in the trunk when not in use.

bill, do you have a picture of yours? What do the other end fittings look like?

when I installed those brackets I had to remove the rear seats completely to properly position them on the side speaker enclosures

you need to locate where your forward brackets/clips/etc go before you do the rears.
