While I love XK8+XJ8's tips, Those won't fit the cutout on my 2003, which appears to be slightly less than 6 inches across. I was just about to order the ones one eBay that cat888 linked to. I figured for $60 that was a good deal. I signed in, I clicked the "Buy It Now" button, and my finger was hovering a fraction of an inch above the mouse button, ready to order those tips. Then I started wonder what the shipping cost was going to be. I clicked "back" a couple of time and saw that shipping was FIFTEEN DOLLARS!!! I know for a fact that the actual shipping cost for those tips would be less than $4. That company wants to screw me with the shipping charges. I don't buy from companies that are sneaky like that. I know, it's just $10, but it's the principle.

That's on the eBay Canada site. I went to the US eBay where it was "only" $15 for shipping.

I'm glad somebody brought up that awesome pic with the Raven. I was wondering if Sam would post a video on his Raven Training Techniques.

 

This is what I ended up with: 3.5 x 4.5 x 6.75 oval tips, a perfect fit for an early model XK8 like mine. I purchased them on ebay. It was an easy job with the mig. They are welded on.

Seller from ebay sent wrong item first. They dont fit early cars like mine(5.75" w). They told me to keep the bigger ones as a gift to make up for the delay (and their expense). Here is the link on ebay. They have slightly bigger inlet pipe:

Well folks, as sort of the final chapter in this saga, let me show you the little modification I made to these tips. I grabbed my handy-dandy Dremel Moto-Tool, chucked up 2 inch cut-off wheel (turns out that 3 inch would also have fit) and sliced off about 3 inches of that internal pipe. I then re-painted the insides flat black, and I really like the results.

Asyou have an XKR yes they can very simple, dont get aftermarket the are not staggered to match the shape of the bumper and one side sticks out to far... looks are not as good....OE is better C2N3289and 3290, they are handed not cheap at $300ish.......

Mind you I just remembered Adamesh do a copy which are not too bad with the same quad setup, alot cheaper too, you could even replace the rear box if you wish for a bit more noise, the lot with quad tips is $360ish plus delivery

 

I agree with Tony above. The factory finishers are staggered to follow the curve of the bumper. I just replaced my old ones (right) with a brand new pair from Jaguar (left). £85 + VAT each, but I sold the old ones for £70. Expensive, but they look SO right, IMHO.

 

The OEMs look gorgeous. How do I fit them on? Welding required?

I'm a little afraid of going for the Adamesh straight pipes, don't want the beauty to be too noisy. I like it understated.
