HELP: XKR 4.2 (2006) Supercharger Idler Pulley interchangeable?
Hi,
I just started a cooling system overhaul: octopus hose, 3 way connector, valley hoses, WP, thermostat, radiator hoses, etc.
Today I removed the fan shroud and SC & Acc belts and realized the SC idler pulley (definitely bearing) is totally shot.
I looked up the part catalogue and found this number: XR831039 or C2C34124.
Are there any interchangeable/alternative parts for this idler pulley? It's annoyingly hard to find a vendor and when I found one, it's too pricey (~$115).
Mine is a smooth pulley without any grooves.
Thanks in advance,
JW

Xalty,
When mine went out a couple years ago.... Jaguar told me that they no longer carried that Idler Pulley ......and they had a new System of Pulleys and Belts to replace it with! Don't remember what they were asking for the replacement stuff but as I recall it was over $600.00. I took it over to e Machine Shop and they replaced the Bearing! It's still running just fine, Jaguar wanted to sell me a new system of Pulleys that they said "REPLACED" my system .......As I said, the replaced Bearing is still working just fine!

@Billy - there was a TSB (attached) issued in response to complaints of noisy/chirping belts that recommended changing several parts, which was probably what the dealer was trying to sell you.
I can't find any X-ref for that part # (or the preceding NCC7753AD) - is it perhaps the same size as the metal serpentine idler (76mm dia. x ~37mm width)? Otherwise, I'd agree that changing the bearing would be the way to go. I *think* most bearings have a part number engraved on them somewhere.

[UPDATES]
Based on the information I collected, I ordered 2 different bearings: Timken 6303 (x1) for SC idler pulley; 6203 (x2) for SC tensioner & Acc tensioner.
BTW, the 2 tensioner pulleys are not "left-handed" thread but regular "right-handed" for my XKR (2006). I broke the bolt for the SC tensioner and that's how I knew this for sure.
Thanks all for the inputs.
Cheers,
JW

Michaelh & szhilian39,
I looked around for a new Idler-pulley but could not find one that was the same size at the Parts Store.....So! I just took the Idler to a Machine Shop and they replaced the Bearing...Cost about $20. BUCKS......Put it back in just like it came from Jaguar and it works just like NEW!
As I look at the Photo above: (The Photo of the Engine's front) ...I notice how much smaller my S/C Pulley is compared to the one in this Photo! Mine is about 1/2 the size of this one....I assume this one must be Stock-size...
When I did my Super=Charger Pulley change several years ago, I put on a Larger Crank Pulley that I got from a Friend in NYC and he also sent me a much smaller S/C Pulley than the original... The combination of the two has increased the S/C Speed a great deal......Really gets it going! I also put on a Water Injecting System to cool the Water/Methanol that was being injected! The Pressure=Guage shows over 30 lbs. of pressure when you really get on it! That's a lot of Boost! I also changed out the Watercooler Radiator and Pump during that procedure...Needless to say, "It runs pretty good!"
