High Mount Rear Lamp Cover Removal

High Mount Rear Lamp Cover Removal
Anyone know how the cover comes off
of the high rear lamp?
(mounted on the front of the boot)
Its loose on either side and I'm thinking it needs new clips??
I don't want to get too rough with it,
so I thought I'd ask here before I break something.

TIA

I have a coupe so others may have better ideas but the workshop manual says to remove the three blanking plugs on the inside of the forward edge of the trunk lid to get to the light nuts. If you are going to remove the light then the lid lining has to come off to be able to unplug the light.

Here's JTIS section 86.41.01 - High Mounted Stop lamp Vehicles With Convertible Top.
JTIS - XK8 High Mounted Stop Lamp.pdf
The diagrams are useful.

great - thanks for the quick replies -
the pdf posted by Graham shows that the cover is held on by two retaining tangs -
which don't seem enough to hold the edges of the cover tight to the lamp assembly,
but strong enough to provide enough resistance for me to be concerned about removal -
may just leave this alone and move to the next projects -
the spoiler is coming off at the edges - may need to remove and re-tape -
and I should receive my new hydraulic hoses and top latch tomorrow,
so that will be this weekend's operation -
thanks again guys
