Default Hood badge

Hi folks,
Yesterday someone stole the green 4L hood badge from my 1997 XK8. Does anyone know what years this badge was used and if it was used on any other models?
Thanks,
Tom

Sometimes the adhesive on these fails with age. Have fixed a few. Windshield adhesive works very well.

SNG Barret has one one their website saying up to 1999.

Not sure about other models.

I lost mine on my former 97 years ago...I don't remember them being that expensive.

I'll try the windshield adhesive on the new one. Unfortunately or fortunately I caught the whole thing on the security cam so I have a nice video of the operation and a picture of his face.

The new one will be complete with the silver mounting - they're not separate.

The windshield adhesive is for when the emblem separates from the base or is close to doing so. This happens when they get older, and makes it that much easier to steal one.

The one's I'm seeing sell for over $100 each. (MSRP seems to be over $200)

I need one for the 1998 XK8 I just bought. Someone put an ASTON MARTIN emblem in it's place and I think it looks STUPID!!!!!!!!

I do have a NIB 4.0 SUPERCHARGED badge but I don't want that on there either.

Why those dirty *******s! I'm not allowed to say what you should do to him in polite company. This would really light my fuse if I had evidence on the culprit.
Just sayin', TM

Luckily I got him on the security cam and have a nice clear picture of his face. I'll be having a little "talk" with him. At this point I would like to give a big thank you to EBay seller Soughtout1. He didn't have the badge listed but I sent him an email on Friday morning on the off chance that he might have a gently use one kicking around and he did at a great price. I highly recommended him to those who need parts.

You're fortunate that 4.0 badges are pretty available, though not cheap. Try finding one for the 4.2 engine. Near impossible. I replaced mine with a plastic "generic" badge. I don't love it but it will do until I find an OEM 4.2 badge.

The paint in my newly acquired (for $1800) running, driving, top working ‘99 XK8 has paint in poor condition, so I’m considering getting it wrapped in BRG. I thought it would be a nice touch to freshen up the hood badge at the same time. After I saw the price, turns out my current badge is fresh enough.
